So, I was a bit worried about going to watch this film. A lot of the anime films I have seen that are based off a series have been rather disappointing. This film was not as bad as I thought. It is not the greatest anime film, but far from the worst.
Izuku Midoriya and All Might travel to a huge inventing expo. The expo is unexpectedly taken over by villains. Together, with a few of his classmates and a brand-new friend, Izuku and class 1A fight to take down the villains.
The storyline is pretty good and a feel-good movie, as is with most of the My Hero Academia series.
Power scaling is once again non-existent but somehow there is a lot of power being thrown around.
There is some awesome character development for All Might, which I enjoyed. Humanizing the Superman-like character and making him more than just Izuku's mentor. Izuku's character arc, I still feel, is the worst, and in terms of characters, he is still the weakest when compared to characters like Tenya and Todoroki.
What does truly suck though, is that like so many of these kinds of movies, it does not affect the actual timeline.
Overall, this is a great film to check out. Even though it is meant to take place somewhere in season 3, it is still something to tie over big My Hero Academia fans, like myself, now that season 4 is over.
Overall Rating: 7.6/10
Recommended for: People needing something to watch after My Hero Academia season 4 ended.
