Darth Vader drops out of lightspeed as he attempts to land on Vargoss Voss, however, three squadrons of X-Wings stand in his way. He senses that the X-Wings were not expecting him and the boy, Luke Skywalker, was here. The X-Wings open fire but Vader outmanoeuvres them killing them off one by one.
Aphra is trying to make contact with Vader but he has switched off all coms.
He continues the slaughter, redirecting torpedoes with the force back at their targets. The commanders are confused about how this one pilot is defeating everyone.
Luke senses Vader and relays this to the commanders. Luke understands that they cannot defeat Vader. Luke propels his X-Wing at Vader's tie but Vader senses Luke and they crash into each other and both Vader and Luke spiral down to the planet's surface.
There is shown a secret Rebel refuelling base. The base informs Han and Leia that they are moving to get Vader. Han tells Leia that is Luke's location. Leia states Vader is the priority; however, Han won't listen and states his priority is saving his friend.
Han, Chewy, Leia and C3-P0 all board the Millenium Falcon.
Aphra boards her astromech with the protocol droids to check on Vader.
Back on the planet, Vader isn't injured and destroys every ship that comes close to him, marching towards Luke. He will end this, and nothing will stop him.
Luke sees the ships and realises this is his fault. Luke starts walking towards Vader. Luke is determined to end this once and for all.
Vader continues his pursuit but is then ambushed by an entire army. He ignites his saber and sets off the grenades on every soldier's chest while deflecting a tank blast. The soldiers stand no chance!
The Falcon has arrived, and Leia is being briefed on how bad the situation is on the ground and Han finds Luke's last known location.
Aphra scouts out a new Rebel team that has arrived at the battle. She comes up with a plan to win back Vader's trust and spray paints the protocol droid a different colour.
Luke walks through a Jedi temple, getting visions of its previous visitors. Out of nowhere C3-P0 joins him. Artoo goes into a frenzy but Luke calms him by telling him that it is C3-P0. 3P0 shocks Luke and he collapses just as Aphra walks out. Aphra prepares to kill Artoo as he tries to defend Luke.
The protocol droid fires off missiles and Artoo screams and flees as everything starts exploding. Aphra, now in possession of the unconscious Luke, leads the way back to her ship, but Han is waiting. From his sniper-vantage point, Han tells them to drop the boy. Aphra tells Han that if he kills her the protocol droid will kill the boy. The protocol droid states that the known associate, a Wookie, is missing. Chewbacca jumps out and rips the arms off the protocol droid.
Aphra leaps out the way firing at Solo while Luke hits the ground slowly regaining consciousness. He looks around and sees Artoo being chased by the protocol droid and gives the droid a hard kick. The droid starts flying and opens fire on both Luke and Artoo.
Chewy is hitting the protocol droid with its own arm but the droid gets a chance to inject the Wookie with a toxin, disorientating him.
Neither Han nor Aphra get a good shot, but Aphra sees a wasp’s nest over Han's head and Han sees one above her. They both shoot at them and are covered with wasp worms as they escape before smacking into each other.
The protocol droid is preparing to drain Chewy's blood but Luke cuts off his other arm. Chewy, Luke and Artoo prepare to leave but find an unconscious Han and Aphra.
The protocol droid and astromech aren't finished and, without Aphra, they resolve to kill everyone. Artoo squirts oil over the astromech droid's sensors causing it to begin shooting wildly as the group make a break for it. The astromech hits a rockface which comes toppling down landing on the protocol and astromech droids.
Leia leads the next wave at Vader. Vader sneaks up on Leia. Startled, Leia runs for her life. Vader doesn’t pursue her as he wants her to let everyone know his location so he can end this.
Leia communicates with the Rebels to bomb her location in order to kill Vader.
Han and Luke are back in the Falcon and try to call Leia. C3-P0 answers instead and tells them of Leia plan to sacrifice herself to kill Vader. The Falcon is then struck by another ship. Aphra has called in a reinforcement, the bounty hunter Wookie, Hersanten. Chewy jumps the other Wookie and the brawl ensues. Han tells Luke to go get Leia, now!
Hersanten lifts Chewy off the ground.
The protocol droid and astromech come across C3-P0 and takes his arms. The Rebel’s Y-Wings home in on Vader's location but suddenly Tie Fighters start shooting them down. The imperials have arrived lead by Commander Carbon, the "replacement", who had planned this. Vader confronts Carbon and Carbon reveals how he set Vader up and will now claim the ultimate prize. Carbon commands the troopers to find the boy and the princess.
Vader and using the force throws all the troops back and tells Carbon that he will kill him. A saber duel between the two starts.
The Wookie brawl continues until Chewy is knocked unconscious and collapses on Han. The bounty hunter grabs Han's gun, breaks it and tosses Han away. He grabs a rock to smash Chewy's head with. Artoo shoots Chewy with an adrenalin shot giving Chewy a surge of energy. Chewy manages to take the rock from the bounty hunter, smashing it and begins pummelling the him.
Luke, the protocol droid and astromech come across the stormtroopers and begin to fight.
Carbon is no match for Vader and Vader cuts off his limbs after which Carbon flees and hides. Vader begins hearing voices, it’s Obi-Wan telling him he has become the very thing he hates. Carbon seizes Vader’s distracted moment and attacks.
Chewy is still pummelling the other Wookie who lands an uppercut in defence and takes Chewy down. The Wookie seizes Han by the throat.
Vader gains the upper hand just as Leia is aiming a pistol at his head. C3-P0 calls to her relaying that everyone needs help. Duty-bound, Leia tells him she is on the way, letting the opportunity to kill Vader go.
Vader receives a call from Aphra telling him Carbon's men have captured Luke and are loading him onto their ship.
C3-P0 gets in the way of the Wookie's punches, defending Chewy. As the Wookie punches through C3-P0 he is electrocuted.
Vader stops fighting and with the force, throws Aphra's ship at Carbon. Aphra ejects herself quickly. She later enquires if she is back in favour with Vader who replies that it depends on the boy. Vader sees the Imperial ship with Luke on it and uses the force to bring it crashing down.
Han sees it crash and they head in that direction. Luke is thrilled to see everyone. Aphra arrives telling them no one is going anywhere and that Vader wants Luke. Leia knocks Aphra unconscious and instructs the others to take her hostage as her knowledge will prove useful. They board the Falcon as depart, Vader watching as they leave.
