Darth Vader has rejoined the Empire. He travels to Sho-Torun. He arrives and is already in a foul mood. He states Princess Treos has disappointed him, he should have been greeted by her father.
The princess explains her father is old but will greet Vader at the Ceremonial Ball. Then offers her servants to help Vader with the box he is carrying.
Vader declines, saying it is a gift for her father. He will carry it personally as a reminder of the Empire's friendship.
Once everyone leaves, two droids disembark from Vader's ship. BT and 000, the droids created by Doctor Aphra. 000, the protocol droid, hurries along calling for BT to speed up. BT wants to shoot everyone, but 000 knows they must be subtle.
Vader and the Princess enter the grand hall as the dancing begins. Vader thinks dancing is unnecessary. The Princess explains the balls are held to keep the royals happy and in line.
BT and 000 enter the palace and come across a locked door. 000 asks another droid for help. The droid refuses as they don't have clearance. 000 grabs the droid, removes his pain receptor and data core before continuing.
A duke walks up to Vader and insists he dance, as it is an insult not to dance. Vader lifts the duke off the ground using the force then throws him back into the ground. Vader asks if anyone else wishes to dance with him, everyone backs off.
A ship breaks the ceiling. Soldiers rush out of the ship, shouting death to the empire. Vader deflects the shots single-handed, killing all the soldiers.
Vader furious, demands to see the King now. The Princess says they should use the tunnels as the Dukes will be watching the elevators.
The King is furious that it has come to this. He does not wish it but he will have to lose his daughter is a tragic accident. BT and 000 are next to him. 000 offers him a drink.
Vader and the Princess continue through the tunnels. The sides seal up trapping the Princess and Vader. Lava begins to pour into the chamber. Vader cuts a hole into the side of the chamber, knocks out the Princess, throws her on his shoulder and stands on the disk he cut out to be carried away.
In the throne room, the King commands that the doors need to be sealed immediately. Vader will be coming for them. 000 offers another drink, the King knocks the drinks across the room. 000 looks at BT saying he wins.
The Princess wakes up, directly outside the Throne Room, Vader standing over her. She pulls out a blaster to shoot Vader, but her hand is very quickly cut off. Vader starts cutting a hole in the door. As they enter she sees what has happened in the room, there is just smoke and death, 000 sees them as declares that there was a mass heart attack.
The Princess runs over to her father. Vader walks over to her. He gives her the box, saying it's hers now as the ruler. As it hits the ground its shatters open revealing a rock. She doesn't understand. Vader states that as a Princess she served her father, as a queen she will serve the people. This is a reminder of what happens to people who do not obey the Emperor. That the rock is the last piece of Alderaan. The Princess drops the rock. Vader using the force places the crown onto her head. As he leaves he reminds her whom she serves.
